The Code Connection: your online code tool
The Code Connection is a BLOG site aimed at providing building code information, tools and a discussion forum for International Code users everywhere. This the place for questions, answers and resources in order to help you "Tell your code story." Since your host is from Ohio, the content of some of these pages may have an Ohio flavor but everyone can benefit because I-Codes have been adopted by a large majority of states and Federal agencies (click to see the map). Regardless of your geography, background or experience, everyone is welcome.
An Open Forum
It's simple and free to gain access to the online code community. No need to join anything - the Code Connection is an open forum. If you choose, you can sign up for your own free Squarespace account for maximum access and opportunity through your host.
Who is this BLOG for?
- CodeMakers: Building Officials, Fire Officials, Plans Examiners, Inspectors, Code Consultants and other professionals who are involved in code enforcement and promulgation.
- CodeCoaches: AIA Members, Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers and other design professionals who are serving clients and applying building codes in the design of buildings.
- CodeRookies: Interns and other construction professionals who are new or occasional users of building codes.
- Squarespacers: Serious about building codes? Squarespace members can use their account login for normal access or contact the host to become a free member of the site. And its so simple!
- The Public: Are you disabled or an advocate for someone who is disabled? Perhaps you are a business owner or work for an institution and just need information. Everyone is affected by building codes and building safety.
How do I participate?
Its simple. First Check out the Code Connection Journal. Your host will present information on timely topics of interest to the code community. Feel free to provide feedback!

As this site develops I plan to create many more helpful tools for use on every building project. I welcome the submission of your own tools for consideration. Hopefully these tools will enable you to become more self sufficient and professionally capable of telling your "code story". Our objective objective is to help you to create a correct analysis and a complete presentation of all the essential code elements that make up your building.
