In Type III B construction are wood roof trusses allowed.

What we have here .... is a failure to communicate....just kidding - couldn't resist.....Assuming you are referencing the IBC, there is no restriction for wood roof trusses. Although the IBC description of IIIB is different than the former BOCA, IIIB has always allowed combustible floor and roof construction.

Thanks for the input and assistance Pat! I've been out of town volunteering for the Boy Scouts for the past few weeks. You are right on w/ the IIIB and wood floors and roofs. The theory behind IIIB is that masonry walls will resist the spread of fire to adjoining structures while still being fairly combustible. While we don't see it very often in new construction., older existing buildings in urban areas are often classified this way.
