About the Editor
I am an Architect. I'm also a Building Official. And I believe in making the world a better place to live through cheerful service.
After 20 years of practice as an architect, the past few years as a building official, and having worked with hundreds of architects, owners, contractors and government officials, I've come to the conclusion that there is a lot that each of these groups can learn from each other. It's with this idea in mind that this web site is being launched.
The more I learn about building codes, code enforcement and the contruction industry, the more I realize I have to work harder to keep up with the advances of modern life. I hope you will join the discussion and share your questions and advice with our online code community. Initially, I think we can be successful in building this communication bridge even if it only extends to the Miami Valley and Ohio. I'm convinced that there's a lot of talent and a willingness from professionals to form a brain trust that makes us all more effective in the roles we play.
This blog is a community effort and not part of my steady day job, although I field code questions from folks all day long. I'm glad to serve anytime someone needs a helping hand. So please read the disclaimer to make sure you understand that this effort is not part of any official goverment site or service.
